Large Tornado Confirmed Near Brookhaven and Monticello, Mississippi Under PDS Warning

A PDS Tornado Warning was in effect for parts of Mississippi, with a large tornado confirmed on the ground near Brookhaven and Monticello showing a debris signature on radar. “PDS” stands for Particularly Dangerous Situation.

While the tornado was not in the immediate local area, officials noted the impacted communities are neighboring areas just north of the Louisiana Northshore. The tornado has since lifted, but left a path of destruction behind.

Residents with family or friends in the affected parts of Mississippi were encouraged to check on them.
