Last Day of School Dates Set Across Louisiana

Share your love

As the school year winds down, most Louisiana districts have already locked in their final day of classes for students, and it is right around the corner.

In St. Tammany Parish Public Schools, the last day is May 21, 2026, and it will be a half day.

Lafayette Parish School System is also wrapping up on May 21, with a records day scheduled for May 22.

Across the state, most districts are finishing between May 20 and May 22, depending on their individual calendars. Some may go slightly longer into the final week of May.

These differences usually come down to start dates, required instructional time, and built in weather days.

Keep in mind, these dates can still change. In Louisiana, things like hurricanes or flooding can push the school year back if makeup days are needed.

Bottom line, we are just weeks away from summer break.

Parents, double check your district’s official calendar just in case anything shifts.
