Louisiana State Police say proactive enforcement efforts by Troop F resulted in three major drug seizures involving more than 1,200 pounds of suspected marijuana, additional suspected narcotics, firearms and thousands of dollars in cash.
According to Louisiana State Police, troopers conducted three separate traffic stops that led to significant narcotics seizures and arrests.
Collectively, troopers seized more than 1,200 pounds of suspected marijuana, along with suspected cocaine, Adderall, ecstasy, two firearms and more than $4,000 in U.S. currency.
One of the traffic stops alone resulted in the seizure of nearly 1,100 pounds of suspected marijuana. Louisiana State Police said K-9 “Skip” was deployed during the stop and provided a positive alert on the vehicle.
State Police said proactive traffic enforcement gives troopers an opportunity to identify criminal activity and disrupt the transportation of illegal narcotics traveling through Louisiana communities.
Louisiana State Police said Troop F will continue working alongside other law enforcement agencies to deter criminal activity and keep communities across the state safe.
