A Sulphur couple is behind bars after authorities say three young children tested positive for methamphetamine during an investigation in Calcasieu Parish.
According to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, Christopher Casey Romero, 36, and Veronica Kay Ancelet, 27, were arrested Wednesday after deputies were contacted regarding the children, all of whom are under the age of 6.
Investigators say the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services removed the children from the home after they reportedly tested positive for methamphetamine.
Following the investigation, both Romero and Ancelet were charged with three counts of cruelty to juveniles.
Authorities say both suspects are currently being held on $600,000 bonds.
