Teen Shot In Slidell During Drug Deal Gone Wrong Near McDonald’s

A 17-year-old was shot Friday afternoon in Slidell after what police say was a botched drug deal in a McDonald’s parking lot near Voters Road and Old Spanish Trail.

Multiple 911 calls came in reporting gunfire. When it was over, the teen had suffered a graze wound to the head and was taken to a local hospital by private vehicle. Injuries were reported as non-life-threatening.

Investigators say the incident unfolded during a drug deal involving teenagers, in broad daylight, in a busy commercial area.

No arrests have been made so far. Detectives are still interviewing witnesses and going through evidence as the investigation continues.
