Skeletal Remains Found by Fishermen Near Hwy. 11 in St. Tammany Parish

SLIDELL, La. — A disturbing discovery in St. Tammany Parish has sparked an active investigation after fishermen reportedly located skeletal remains near Highway 11 on Monday afternoon.

Authorities were called to the area near Indiana Avenue after the remains were spotted in or near a waterway. Deputies responded quickly and secured the scene while investigators began processing the area.

Officials have not yet released the identity of the remains or how long they may have been there. The St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office is expected to assist with recovery and forensic identification.

Traffic delays and heavy law enforcement presence were reported nearby as the investigation unfolded.
