Slidell Pair Facing Charges After Medicaid Investigation
A multi-year investigation has led to the arrest of two Slidell residents accused of improperly receiving government assistance.
State investigators say the couple allegedly received tens of thousands of dollars in Medicaid benefits they weren’t entitled to, with the total estimated around $135,000.
According to officials, the issue centers around how their household information was reported over time. Authorities believe income and relationship details were not accurately disclosed, which allowed the benefits to continue.
The alleged activity spans several years, beginning in 2022 and continuing into 2025.
Both individuals were taken into custody on April 23 and are now facing charges tied to fraud involving government assistance programs and false documentation.
They were booked into a Baton Rouge facility as the case moves forward.
Officials have not indicated whether additional charges could follow.
