Weather Alert For Slidell Area

The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for portions of southeastern St. Tammany Parish and southern Hancock County through 5:45 PM.

A strong thunderstorm near Eden Isle is moving northeast around 20 mph and may produce:

• Waterspouts over marine areas

• Winds over 40 mph

• Downed tree limbs

• Hazardous water conditions

Areas impacted include:

Slidell

Eden Isle

Pearlington

If you are on or near the water, move indoors immediately. Lightning can strike miles away from the storm.

Stay alert and use caution while traveling.
