TORNADO WARNING ISSUED FOR NORTHEASTERN ST. TAMMANY PARISH
The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Warning for northeastern St. Tammany Parish until 9:15 AM.
At 8:40 AM, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near the Pearl River area and moving northeast at approximately 15 mph. Radar has indicated rotation within the storm.
Residents in the warned area should take cover immediately. Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and stay away from windows.
The warning primarily impacts rural portions of northeastern St. Tammany Parish. Damaging winds, flying debris, downed trees, and damage to vehicles and structures are possible.
